Taking the Gembloux Gap: Cast and Crew Pt 4

Below is the final German platoon, since Leutnant Bauer exhausted 2nd Platoon in their attempted breakthrough at Villeroux. This platoon will have to turn back the impending French counterattack while following on with the race toward the River Dyle - a tall order.

The I. Bataillon of 3 Shützen Regiment, 8. Kompanie, 3rd Platoon
Leutnant Paul Wagner, leading the platoon is a 27 year old son of a well off famer from Bonn.
Feldwebel Manfred Hans, the platoon sergeant, is a 25 year-old prior farmhand from Alsfeld. Like the feldwebel of 2nd platoon, he too is tall and thin.
Obergefreiter Adelheid Roth, leading 1st squad, is a 26 year old high class waiter from Salzburg. He is short and fierce, and pushes his men relentlessly.
Obergefreiter Bruno Hoffman, in charge of 2nd squad, is a 23 year old gamekeeper from Munich.
Obergefreiter Felix Braun, at the helm of 3rd squad, is a 21 year old from Regensburg who was a model citizen and strong believer in the cause.

The 110e Regiment D'Infanterie, 2nd Platoon will continue to stay in the line, now participating in the local French counterattack. Regardless of its success, they will remain in the field until the Germans reach the wooded heights west of Villeroux.
